How to Grow Goji Berries

The process of growing Goji Berries starts by sowing the Goji seeds in about one centimeter deep loose soil with a cover of medium sand. Once the sowing is completed, use a spray comprising of biological compost. In about a week or ten days, the seedlings will start appearing. Once all the seedlings emerge, expose them to the sunlight so that these seedlings can stand firmly on their own. These seedlings need adequate supply of soil and water for their growth.

Plant Stage

The next stage in the process of growing Goji Berries involves waiting for the Goji seedlings to develop into green shoots, then move them into starter pots and keep them in a warm place. Over a period of time the Goji plants will grow into a height of 3 to 4 inches. Goji plants will reach a height of up to 10 to 12 inches over a period of four to five years. Once they overgrow their pots, you need to shift them into bigger buckets.

The Fruit Stage

Goji plants do not bear any fruits during the first year. In fact they do not bear any fruit during the first three years after you plant the seeds. After this period you can be sure of very good harvest every year. You will know that the Goji plant has reached the fruit stage by a blossom of purple trumpet like flowers.
